I made my first ring sling a few years ago when my daughter was six months old. It was so much more versatile and comfortable than the front carrier I had. It held her in close to my body, so that she felt more secure and she associated it with going to sleep. When I was out and about, I would put her in my sling and she would instantly put her head down and go to sleep.

Then when I had my second child I made my first pouch sling. He was a very colicky baby and needed to be held a lot. Now my sling was not only a helpful tool, it was a necessity.

I also decided to expand and include nursing covers. I wanted one that was stylish, yet long and wide enough to cover everything.
